Jersey hosting British-Irish Council summit
The British-Irish Council summit will take place in Jersey today.
Among those attending will be Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, and representatives from Ireland, Wales, the UK and Guernsey.
The British-Irish Council was formed in 1998 as a direct result of the Good Friday Agreement. It aims to promote positive relationships among its members and to provide a forum for consultation and co-operation.
Jersey's Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst said the summit will provide anopportunity for Council members to discuss a number of important matters, including Brexit.
One of the main topics of discussion will be the creative industries.
