Jersey’s Serena Guthrie was named player of the tournament as England beat Jamaica to win the Fast5 Netball World Series in Melbourne.

It is the Roses second victory in the event, and their first since the current format was introduced in 2012.

Guthrie’s side beat the Sunshine Girls 34-29 in the grand final after finishing second behind them in the round-robin stage.

The tournament sees the world’s top-six ranked nations competing in a condensed version of the sport.

New Zealand have won it six times since the inaugural event in 2009, with England only previously breaking their dominance in 2011.

The Roses' next action comes in a three-match international series at home against Malawi next month.
