Head of Healthcare at Guernsey Prison awarded Queen's Nurse status

The Head of Healthcare at Guernsey Prison will formally receive the title of Queen's Nurse this weekend.

Carolyn Barrett was recognised for her dedication and commitment to the profession by the Queen's Nursing Institute.

Queen's Nurses are regarded as innovators and leaders in community nursing and are committed to learning, leadership and high standards of practice and patient care.

Carolyn is now one of three in Guernsey and there are also five in Jersey.

Carolyn has been leading the healthcare team at the Guernsey Prison for 11 years, but she is also celebrating her 40th year of nursing this year.

She will receive the award at a ceremony in London this weekend.
