£6 million loan signed off for St Helier Waterfront development

Jersey's Treasury Minister has signed-off on a £6 million loan for 280 new apartments along St Helier's Waterfront.

Building work could start as early as next year, if at least 70% of the apartments are sold by then.

The development, called Horizon, is the brainchild of the Jersey Development Company.

But some campaigners have questioned whether the project is financially viable.

The decision is being defended by Deputy John Refault, who says the plans are well thought out.
