Wayside development plans rejected

Plans for development at Jersey's Wayside site have been rejected by the planning committee.

Developers hoped to demolish the Wayside cafe to make way for a new restaurant and surf shop, as well as three more homes on the site.

But politicians said they were worried about the impact on the shoreline, and therefore could not pass it.

The plans have sparked anger from campaigners concerned at the over development of the area.
