Swimmers raise more than £50,000 at Skipton Swimarathon
Swimmers in Guernsey have raised over £50,000 and broken records for participation at this year's Skipton Swimarathon.
1,982 swimmers took part in the event, swimming more than 700 kilometres in five days.
The total of funds raised is expected to reach the £55,000 mark.
Half the money will be used to refurbish the children’s section of Guille-Allès library to benefit young people on the island.
The Skipton Swimarathon will be hosting an awards evening to celebrate competitors’ swimming achievements and fund raising efforts on 18 October.
