States backs plan to remove section of the L'Ancresse sea wall

The States has backed a plan to remove a section of the L'Ancresse sea wall in Guernsey.

Only two votes separated the judgement.

They also agreed to remove the existing kiosk and toilets, and replace them with a new public/private partnership facility.

A petition to save the wall was handed into the States by protesters earlier this week, but the Environment Committee said it would have been too costly to repair it.
