Green space protected in development plans for Jersey
New development plans for a site in Jersey seek to safeguard green space. The island's social housing developer, Andium Homes, has bought the Gas Works site in St Helier.
On the 9,100 square metre site, it plans to build 110 homes with parking and extend Millennium Town Park by up to 50 per cent.
The developer also hopes to build an additional 200-space underground car park for general public use.
It replaces proposals to build 253 homes on the site.
A consultation period will now take place between residents and the Constable of St Helier (Simon Crowcroft) before planning permission can be approved by the Housing, Planning, Infrastructure and Treasury Ministers.
