Man running ten marathons in memory of wife and son

A man who lost both his wife and son to cancer is running 10 marathons in 10 days to raise money for a charity set up in his son's memory.

The first marathon will be completed in the Channel Islands.

Mark Keville's wife, Kate, died from breast cancer in 2011. Two years later, his youngest son Robbie was diagnosed with a brain tumour and died last year.

Since 2015 Mark has been raising money through charity Robbiesrally to fund a special rehabilitation unit for children who have brain tumours.

The treatment centre is based at Southampton Children's Hospital, where Channel Island youngsters go for treatment.

Mark arrives in Jersey to compete the first of 10 marathons with his eldest son Harry. They will run half the distance in Jersey, before travelling to Guernsey to complete their 26 miles.

Mark and Harry, along with Mark's daughter Lara, recently took part in the Stand Up To Cancer television campaign, where families shared their brave and heartbreaking stories about their battles with cancer.

The family have raised more than £350,000 for the charity, and are hoping this latest challenge will raise even more.
