Cancer continues to be the most common cause of death in Jersey and Guernsey, according to the latest figures.

Data from the Channel Islands has been released in a report by Public Health England, which looks at the disease in islanders between 2001 and 2014.

Around 1,700 islanders are diagnosed with cancer each year on average, with skin cancer accounting for around 40% of cases.

The report also details how many people died from cancer in each island over five years, between 2010 and 2014.

Guernsey figures include cancer deaths in residents of Alderney and incident cancers in residents of Alderney and Sark.
