The Sark Folk Festival will not return in 2018 to allow volunteers to take a "break".
In a message on Facebook, organisers said that they expect the plan will "disappoint a large number of people".
The Sark Folk Festival has been hugely successful since it launched in 2010.
The not-for-profit festival happen is run by a group of volunteers.
The Sark Folk Festival Committee say they hope to return in 2019.
However, they point out that they are unable to commit at this moment in time.
