RNLI to review controversial coxswain sacking
The RNLI has confirmed that former coxswain Andy Hibbs has challenged the charity's decision to sack him.
Andy Hibbs was asked to stand down by the charity earlier this month for breaching the RNLI code of conduct.
Following the decision all 25 volunteers at St Helier's lifeboat station walked out after claims Mr Hibbs, "has been bullied by senior management".
A spokesperson for RNLI said it will now "carry out a fair and comprehensive internal review into the challenge and the processes that led to the decision".
"This will be undertaken by objective RNLI staff who were not involved in the decision to stand down the volunteer or any related matters."
The charity are now urging islanders "to respect the confidential process" and those involved by not speculating any further or referring to individual people or groups.
