Dance student crowned as Miss Alderney 2017

A dance student has been named as this year's Miss Alderney.

Neroli Queripel will have a starring role in this year’s Musicals themed carnival, leading the Calvacade procession and giving out prizes to competition winners.

The 19 year-old was selected at the traditional Miss Alderney disco, held at the Island Hall on Saturday night.

She studied Performing Arts for two years at the College of Further Education in Guernsey and is now a full time student at a dance college in the UK and aims to specialise in classical and contemporary ballet.

Sonea Digney, aged 17, was crowned as Maid of Honour, Courteney Benfield, aged 11, was named as Little Miss Alderney, and Alan Lorimer, aged 6, was crowned Little Master Alderney.

Competition winner, Neroli, believes her performing arts background will help her with the role of Miss Alderney.
