RNLI relief crew arrive in Jersey

The RNLI have sent six relief crew over from the UK to ensure cover for the island.

It comes after Lifeboat Coxswain, Andy Hibbs, was asked to stand down by the charity for breaching the RNLI code of conduct.

Following the decision all 25 volunteers at St Helier's lifeboat station walked out after claims Mr Hibbs, "has been bullied by senior management".

The UK crew, who arrived in the island earlier today, have now got a boat at St Helier's lifeboat station back in service.

The charity are assuring people that despite islanders concerns they will be in safe hands.

Ed Stevens from the RNLI told ITV News that the crew are used to covering stations all over the UK.
