Women's Muratti cancelled for 2017
This year's women's Muratti will not take place due to an ongoing dispute between the Guernsey FA (GFA) and its players.
The GFA said in a statement there were not enough "suitably qualified players" to form a team for this May's inter-insular showpiece.
In response the Jersey FA said it was "disappointed" with the outcome, adding it hoped the "difficulties" could be resolved as soon as possible.
The row in Guernsey women's football broke out last summer when it was announced a new club, Ormer FC, would be set up with a view to playing regular, competitive games in the UK.
In turn the GFA established Guernsey Ladies Football Club, which had similar objectives, but most of the island's leading players opted to join Ormer instead.
With Ormer playing homes games in the UK, and therefore being affiliated with the Hampshire FA, the GFA said players involved in that club did not then meet the criteria to represent the island side.
It's been revealed last ditch talks between the GFA and senior players, aimed at preventing the women's Muratti from being cancelled, were held last month but both sides failed to reach a suitable agreement.
