Chief Minister: Senator Ozouf's 'wise head and steady hand a considerable loss'
Jersey's Chief Minister has described Senator Philip Ozouf's resignation as an Assistant Chief Minister as 'a considerable loss.'
Criticisms of the Jersey Innovation Fund, which was managed by Senator Ozouf, prompted him to give up his Assistant Chief Minister responsibilities.
There was widespread public outcry after it was revealed that the fund, set up to help provide loans to start up businesses in the island, had lost hundreds of thousands of pounds of tax payers' money.
The letter Senator Ozouf sent to Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst, announcing his decision to resign, has been published by the States. The Chief Minister's response has also been made public.
