GSPCA rescues injured seal pup with "nasty injury"
Guernsey's animal shelter has taken in a sick seal pup which was found at Petit Bot.
A volunteer was called the area and found a weak, thin, young male seal pup with a "nasty" open injury on its back.
The GSPCA's Animal Collection Officer, Geoff George, says the wound will need to be operated on on Monday.
The animal has now been checked over by vets and is being treated at the shelter in the meantime.
Mr George said "The vet and I have just checked the young grey seal pup and it has a very nasty injury to its back which will need an operation on Monday where they can look at it much closer and do what is necessary to help the very poorly pup.
"We haven't yet named him and he is currently on a series of treatments and in intensive care at the GSPCA."
