Adrian's dad: Now we can move forward and end the ordeal

The father of Adrian Lynch has said his family can finally 'move forward' and 'end the ordeal' after the inquest into his death was closed this afternoon.

In a statement Danny Lynch and step-mother Sharon Lynch described the 'eight months of torture' they experienced after Adrian went missing last December.

The 20-year-old had been at a Christmas party and his body was found in Handois Reservoir in August this year.

Danny Lynch added 'now that the cause of Ady’s death has been substantiated as accidental...fictitious and cruel rumours can now lay to rest'.

The 20-year-old has been described as 'decent, funny and caring'

Adrian's mother, Mameal and sister, Alana, describe Adrian as 'the most caring and kind man anyone could know' saying he 'left his mark on everyone who knew him'.

They also thanked the community for 'coming together to help find him'.
