Guernsey football star Maya Le Tissier wins prestigious sports award
Guernsey's young football star, Maya Le Tissier, has been awarded the Lord's Taverners Young Sportsperson of the Year Award.
The teen won the prestigious award for being an excellent role model and for raising awareness of the sport.
She was presented the award by Paralympic tennis wheelchair medalist Jordanne Whiley.
Maya has been playing football since she was 4-years-old and is the first girl from the Channel Islands to play football for England.
She recently starred in the England Schools FA when they won the Bob Docherty Cup this year, beating Ireland 1-0 in the final.
