Guernsey states reveal 'unashamedly ambitious' long term plan
Guernsey's government has set out it's long term vision for the island over the next 20 years.
Dubbed 'Future Guernsey', the document sets out what the States will do to make the island 'one of the healthiest and happiest places in the world'.
Much like Jersey's Long Term Plan, the vision will focus on several key areas.
Quality of life
Community
Guernsey's place in the world
The economy
Proposals include the government:
Making sure there are reliable and affordable sea and air links
Creating an appropriately sized working population, despite the ageing population
Developing partnerships with third parties and private sectors to support health
Improving housing options, including support accommodation
Removing barriers for businesses, but keeping regulation
Getting better autonomy from the UK in terms of law making
Deputy Gavin St Pier says the plan is 'unashamedly ambitious' and sets out the right priorities and objectives for the future.
