Aurigny vote of no confidence brought to Alderney States

Aurigny's new Dornier aircraft that are replacing the old Trislanders

An Alderney politician has again brought a vote of no confidence in Aurigny to Alderney States.

Steve Roberts says the loss of two of the airline's aircrafts could potentially leave the island with 'no cover at all'.

His requete calls for controlled fares for the island and protection of its lifeline routes.

In February the poltician called for Aurigny's management to step down; it was knocked back by the Assembly but described as a 'yellow card'.

But he says since then 'little has changed'.

Nearly 1,500 islanders have signed a petition voicing their anger with the airline.

Robert McDowall, Francis Simonet and Ian Tugby have all signed the new requete.

It will be debated at the next Alderney States meeting.
