The four candidates standing in the Vale by-election have been talking to ITV News about their big election issues.

Those standing are:

  • Neil Inder

  • Garry Collins

  • Rick Lowe

  • Simon De La Mare

While speaking to our Guernsey reporter John Fernandez, Neil Inder said his 'big issue' is the waste strategy and 'people are extremely worried' about what it will be.

Gary Collins also says 'after walking door to door' the big issue is the waste strategy.

Rick Lowe said housing density is 'clearly' an issue and the Vale has seen 'a lot of development'.

Simon De Le Mare highlighted education as the 'biggest, single issue'.

The by-election is being held after the death of Deputy Dave Jones who passed away in July.

The election will be held on 19th October.
