Carl Hester: 'My passion for horses started in Sark'
Carl Hester has told ITV News he rose to become Olympic champion after first developing an interest in horses in his home island of Sark.
In the first of our special two part series focusing on the Channel Islands' London 2012 hero, we've been at home with Hester to learn more about how he made it to the summit of his sport.
The Dressage star has told us how his family did not have a background with horses but he grew up with them, worked with them and 'got the bug'.He began competing as a young man, got a break via a German family and kept going - all the way to the very top.
