A politician in Alderney wants to lower the voting age for island residents to 16.
Chairman of the Tourism and Marketing Committee, Chris Rowley has put the item forward to feature on the next States Billet.
Currently the voting age in Alderney is 18, whereas in Guernsey and Jersey it is 16.
Mr Rowley says bringing the age in line with the other islands would help to engage young people in politics.
