Tributes paid to Deputy Dave Jones on funeral day
Many have paid tribute to Deputy Dave Jones after his funeral was held at Vale Church yesterday.
During the service a friend read an extract from his unpublished autobiography:
Others paid emotional tributes to him saying 'he can't be replaced'.
Flags were flown at half mast and a special States sitting was held after the funeral for politicians to remember him.
They described him as 'a man of extraordinary character', 'hugely passionate' and remembered him for 'standing up for the underdog'.
Deputy Dave Jones was one of Guernsey's longest serving politicians, he was first elected in 2000.
He was best known for being the Housing Minister for 12 years.
He died last week after battling ill health.
