More than 1,000 people are taking part in the Collas Crill Jersey Island Walk today.

Walkers and runners set off from the Waterfront in St Helier at 3am to take on the 48-mile challenge.

The first person to cross the finish line was Johnny Hickling, who ran around the island in less than 8 hours.

Several relay teams are also taking part, with others taking on the 11-mile Lieutenant Governor's Challenge.

All money raised from the walk goes to local charities.
