Call for more volunteers to help support Jersey's wildlife
Conservation enthusiasts are calling for more volunteers to come forward and help protect the islands species and habitats.
As part of a two day conference, this weekend they are inviting islanders to get their wellies on and spend some time delving in some of Jersey's natural treasures.
'Wild About Jersey' is a two-day event and volunteer fair where people can meet and learn about organisations involved in protecting and conserving Jersey's plant and animal life and discover how they can get involved.
Nina Cornish, from the Environment Dept, says this years event is all about getting people involved.
St Catherine's Woods is just one of the places islanders can come to to get close to the natural world.
But as volunteer Julia Meldrum explains, to maintain a plentiful habitat with as many species and creatures as possible, can take a lot of hard work.
