Jersey pair on top of the world as they win mixed doubles event on home carpet
It's not everyday that Jersey gets to crown a world champion, but today it got to do it twice, teenager Chloe Greechan and 24-year-old Malcolm de Sousa became the mixed doubles World Indoor Bowls champions.
They faced tough opposition from around the world but, in the end, they were victorious on their home carpet.
Our sports reporter Chris Cunningham has this report:
It's Greechan's second world title in as many years, promising a very bright future for the teenager.
For De Sousa it was his first time taking part in the World Championships.
They faced a tough Irish pair in the finals, Andrew Kyle and Chloe Watson were both through to the singles finals as well.
Despite losing to the local duo Kyle went on to win the men's singles event. Watson lost her final to Katherine Rednall of England.
