Service to remember Sark man killed during WWI
The first of a series of commemorations to remember the 18 Men of Sark killed during the First World War has taken place tonight.
The ceremony remembered Alfred Dennis, who died during service with the Merchant Navy in January 1916.
The Last Post was played, followed by a minute of silence at 6pm.
Lt Col Reg Guille led the ceremony and the Sark Standard was borne by Royal British Legion member John Hunt.
18 ceremonies in total are planned at Sark's war memorial to mark the hundredth anniversaries of the deaths of each of the servicemen.
