Disabled swimmers given £11,500 grant
Disabled swimmers in Jersey have been given a grant of £11,500 towards their participation in the Special Olympic and ASA Galas in England in 2016.
Swim Easy Jersey began helping islanders with disabilities to swim 19 years ago.
It has described the money as a 'lifeline'.
The money, granted by the Lloyds Bank Foundation, also supported the charity in their ninth, annual Inter Insular last month, where they worked with their Guernsey colleagues to promote disability sport within the islands.
Between 18 to 20 swimmers will compete at national level against 18 other teams at the regional Special Olympic and ASA galas in England.
