Guernsey's government targets obesity in new draft strategy
Guernsey's government is aiming to reduce the health, social and financial harms associated with obesity and weight problems in the Bailiwick.
They are asking community partners and the public to get on board with a new draft Healthy Weight Strategy released today.
Obesity is a major health an economic issue for the island, the States say.
To tackle the problem they want to make sure healthy eating and physical activity are accessible, affordable and a part of everyday life.
The Strategy also looks to help children and adults to achieve and maintain appropriate weight goals.
It follows the Obesity Strategy which measures and addresses the incidence of obesity in Guernsey and Alderney.
