Les Quennevais is too small for pupils and 'cramped and old'

Students at Les Quennevais, Jersey have told ITV News how the school is simply too small for the number of pupils there.

The school was built for 450 pupils, there are currently 700.

A new site is now being found for a new, bigger school as part of a £40 million project.

The Education Minister says building a new school is long overdue and the current site is 'cramped and old'.

There are three options for the new site but there are drawbacks with each.

If it is built on Les Quennevais sports field it would mean the loss of community facilities.

If a site south of Rue Carrée is used, the States will have to buy the whole lot of land.

If the football pitches of St Brelade's Social Club are chosen, the club could lose their home.
