Young Jersey surfers to represent Team GB

Two young riders from the Jersey Surfboard Club have made the final selection for Team GB.

14-year-old Kitty Brewer and 16-year-old Charlie Rio will represent Great Britain at the Vissla ISA World Junior Surf Championships in California in October.

The competition is considered the Olympics of junior surfing and will attract all the best junior surfers from all over the world.

Charlie will be competing in the Under 18's Boys category and Kitty the Under 16's Girls; they have both done well to beat UK surfers older than themselves for places on the team.

They will head to America on October 5th for training before the competition on October 11th.

Three riders from the club, Charlie, Kitty and Hayden Bishop, made the 'long squad'. Unfortunately Hayden didn't make the final line up when it was released.
