Guernsey man speaks out about his battle with alcoholism

Figures reported by ITV News about the scale of drink dependency in the Channel Islands have prompted a man in Guernsey to speak out.

New figures showed an estimated 4000 people in Jersey alone have an addiction to alcohol.

Patrick Panton's life fell apart when his alcoholism took hold more than three decades ago.

Patrick now hasn't touched drink for 32 years.

And he is using that experience to help others by working as a therapist for the Guernsey Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council.
