While this weekend was about remembering the events of May 1945, after the Liberation the islands faced the tough task of rebuilding their tourist industries.

The economy was in a fragile state, so wooing those visitors back was key.

Before the nightmare of war Jersey was a dream destination.

Now the island had to replace images of occupied Jersey with picturesque scenes to tempt the tourists back.

So how did Jersey re-brand itself in the wake of the war?
