125 years through the eyes of the Jersey Evening Post

To make sure island memories are saved forever, the Jersey Evening Post have gifted their photograph collection to Jersey Archive.

It's part of the newspapers 125-year anniversary celebrations as they look to preserve crucial moments of history.

For years and years JEP photographers have captured island life, following the daily activities of islanders and recording the changing landscape.

From the biggest moments in the island over the last century to heart-warming snapshots of day-to-day life, you can find them all at the new exhibition.

After all it's the people and the pictures that tell a good story.

One man that knows that more than most is the JEP's Pictures Editor, Peter Mourant.

He's taken thousands of pictures over a 40-year career but for the JEP's special exhibition at Jersey Museum, he could only choose just 80.

The exhibition will be available to view at the Jersey Museum and Art Gallery until the end of 2015.

Your chance to see pictures from the past that still have a part to play in the islands future.
