Police are trying to trace a prisoner who has absconded from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire.

24-year-old Michael Ford was last seen at the open prison in Ashbourne on Sunday.

Ford was three years in to serving an 8 year prison sentence for GBH, robbery and conspiracy to supply controlled drugs.

His last known address before his sentence was in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

It follows another appeal by officers last Wednesday after 35-year-old Richard Mander also absconded while he was 2 years in to an eight year sentence for robbery.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of either is asked to contact officers on 101.

Their disappearances are not thought to be connected.
