West Midlands Mayoral Elections 2017

On 4 May 2017 people in the West Midlands will be able to vote in the first ever election for a West Midlands Mayor.

The Mayor will chair the West Midlands Combined Authority which covers Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Sion Simon: 'West Midlands election overshadowed by national issues'

Conservative Andy Street has been elected the first Metro Mayor of the West Midlands.

He beat off Labour MEP and former MP for Birmingham Erdington Sion Simon.

Speaking after the results, Simon said the West Midlands election was overshadowed by national issues.
