Convicted drug dealer caught after nine years on the run

Police in Derbyshire have confirmed a man who failed to return to prison following day release has been re-arrested after more than nine years on the run. In a statement a force spokesperson said:

"We have been made aware that a convict who failed to return to HMP Sudbury in 2008 has been arrested. Bedfordshire Police contacted us this morning to tell us that Orall Mentesh had been arrested at Luton Airport. Mentish (47) absconded on May 18, 2008 having failed to return to the prison from day leave. He was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court on August 12, 2005 to seven years imprisonment for possessing class A controlled drugs with intent to supply. His address prior to imprisonment was in Belvedere in Kent."
