Storm Doris causes second death in West Midlands

Storm Doris has claimed a second life in the Midlands, after a man whose car was hit by a tree on Thursday died in hospital.

A red Ford Focus was driving along the A49 near Church Stretton in Shropshire just before 9.30am last Thursday when it was hit by a falling tree.

The front seat passenger, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital with critical injuries. He died yesterday.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the incident and can help officers investigate the collision.
