Swimmer Adam Peaty wins first Team GB gold in Rio

The 21-year-old from Uttoxeter won Britain's first medal of the 2016 Rio Olympics by taking gold in the men's 100 metres breaststroke.

He also set a new world record of 57.13 seconds.

Uttoxeter's Gold Medal swimmer Adam Peaty helped Great Britain's relay team qualify fastest for the 4x100 metre final on Sunday.

They finished top of the leaderboard in their heat.
