This Saturday visitors are being invited to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage for a fun day of multi sensory activities.

The family friendly event includes making lavender bags, braiding and weaving, brass rubbing, identifying bird song, and playing Tudor games. Activities will take place in the cottage, in the accessible marquee and around the grounds.

Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is putting on the event to provide opportunities for vulnerable older people and anyone with disabilities to experience all that the cottage has to offer.

“One of our main aims of the day is to provide opportunities for vulnerable older people and those with disabilities, together with their families and carers, to find real enjoyment from their visit to the cottage and gardens.

Working with iconic historic venues creates some challenges in terms of access, however the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is focussed on making sure Shakespeare can be available to and enjoyed by all.”

– Becky Cund, Director of HR & Administration at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust
