West Midlands Police have released a statement following a series of bomb threat calls to six schools in the West Midlands, which resulted in them all being evacuated.
These false and malicious calls resulted in lost opportunities for local young people, many of whom are preparing for exams. They also wasted valuable police time which would have been better spent targeting criminals, supporting victims and preventing crimes. Officers are aware of similar calls made to schools outside of the West Midlands area around the same time. As part of the investigation, officers will work to establish if these are linked.”
A Russian Twitter group has claimed responsibility for a series of false bomb threats against schools in Birmingham and the Black Country.
