Mormon Bishop David Charmbury out of intensive care after carjacking

A Mormon bishop who suffered severe head injuries in a carjacking near Birmingham has been moved out of intensive care.

The condition of David Charmbury is continuing to improve and his condition is now described as stable."

Mr Charmbury, 45, was placed in an induced coma after being dragged along by his own 4x4 outside a church in Chelmsley Wood on August 16.

Harley Hayes, 36, of Chelmsley Wood has been charged with assault and taking a vehicle by force over the incident.

Hayes is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on November 30.
