A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and child neglect after a 2-year-old girl was killed in a crash yesterday.
Police were called to Gibbins Road in Selly Oak at around 4pm where a car had left the road and hit a tree.
Witnesses provided CPR on the child, who was a back seat passenger but she was pronounced dead in hospital.
Four other people in the vehicle, including the girl’s mother who was driving, suffered minor injuries.
A post mortem examination is due to take place.
