3.8 magnitude earthquake strikes the East Midlands

The British Geological survey has confirmed an earthquake measuring 3.8 in magnitude has struck the East Midlands. The epicentre was at Cottesmore in Rutland, with the tremor starting at 22:25 GMT on Wednesday 28th January 2015.

Earthquake felt across the East Midlands

The British Geological Survey says it is looking into reports of a possible Earthquake in the Leicestershire and Rutland area.

Meanwhile the tremors were felt in Grantham and Kettering.
