Woman subjected to 'terrifying' sexual assault in park

A 20-year-old woman was subjected to a "terrifying" sexual assault and robbery in a Birmingham park this week, police said.

The woman was taking pictures in Sheldon Country Park off The Radleys around 8am on Tuesday when she was grabbed and dragged into bushes where the assault took place. The man made off with her camera - a black Sony A37 - mobile phone and bank card.

This young woman suffered a terrifying ordeal at a time of day when people were going to work, walking dogs and taking children to school.

I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the park on Tuesday morning or who recognises the description of the attacker.

The man is described as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall with brown eyebrows and clean shaven. He was wearing a navy blue top with the hood up and a black body warmer.

Police are continuing to conduct house to house enquiries and trawl through CCTV in the area in a bid to identify the man.
