Revive liver transplant a 'significant achievement'

Mr Thamara Perera, a liver transplant surgeon, has called a pioneering new procedure which could change the future of organ transplantation a 'significant achievement'.

It comes after a patient at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham became the first person in the world to have a liver transplant where a machine was to resuscitate a donated liver which would previously have been discarded.
