Traffic on the motorway is now moving following a lorry fire.
Motorists on the M1 northbound in Leicestershire are now facing delays of more than three hours after a lorry fire this morning between J22 and J23.
The fire was first reported at 08:40 and road was closed at 09:15. Trapped traffic has been released but the clean up and recovery operation continues. Motorway is expected to stay closed until at least mid-afternoon.
Diversion - Traffic can exit at J22 and take the A511 through Coalville to A42 J13, from where traffic can rejoin the M1 at J23a. Long distance traffic can leaving the M1 at J19 and take the M6 north to J3a, before taking the M42 and A42 north to rejoin M1 at J23a.
