Travel misery is continuing for motorists using the M1 through Leicestershire after a lorry fire closed the entire northbound carriageway at Junction 22 this morning.
Queues are now stretching as far back as J20, and long distance traffic is being advised to leave the M1 onto the M6 and use the M42.
There are now delays of more than three hours. The remains of the lorry have been moved but the clean up operation continues. The motorway is expected to stay closed until at least the evening.
Diversion - Traffic can exit at J22 and take the A511 through Coalville to A42 J13, from where traffic can rejoin the M1 at J23a. Long distance traffic can leaving the M1 at J19 and take the M6 north to J3a, before taking the M42 and A42 north to rejoin M1 at J23a.
